Veritas Lab Unveils Autonomous Drone Project

At Veritas Lab, we’re a small team of tech enthusiasts — Matvey and Roma — driven by a passion for innovation and a dream to create something extraordinary. Our latest project? An autonomous drone designed to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
Imagine a drone that doesn’t just fly but thinks. Powered by cutting-edge AI, it scans the landscape from 50-100 meters above, identifying safe landing spots like fields or clearings while avoiding obstacles like forests or water. Whether it’s low battery, approaching nightfall, or a tricky environment, our drone makes smart decisions — analyzing maps, processing live camera feeds, and choosing the most efficient path to land safely.
We’re still early in the journey, building and learning as we go. Matvey, 17, brings his logistics training and budding programming skills, while Roma, soon to intern at IBM, adds his tech-savvy perspective. Together, we’re experimenting with tools like YOLO for object detection and Raspberry Pi 5 for onboard processing, aiming to craft a drone that’s not just functional but inspiring.
Veritas Lab isn’t a company yet — it’s our sandbox for bold ideas. With this project, we’re taking our first steps toward a future where technology meets creativity. Stay tuned as we turn our vision into reality, one flight at a time.
